Default Disco 2 Brake Kit Replacement

My brakes are squeaking and probably need replacement. Are there special tools to replace them? Can you rate the difficulty? I am handy in many ways. Also which can you recommend, ferodo or EBC kits? I saw them online Atlantic British. Also, do I need anything else other than the kit? Thank you.

What sort of driving do you do, how many miles on the truck?
I would suggest you call and run your questions by them, I tend to suggest eith the mid priced or the EBC set up depending on your needs.
They are on sale right know.
Also use lots of sound deadening spray and do a flush using 3 pints of DOT 4 fluid.

Hi Mike, Thanks. I drive a 2003 Discovery with 50k miles. Once I had the car serviced from a dealer here in NJ and charged me $900++ for the rear breaks only. That includes 3 wiper replacement too. I know that I can replace the brakes myself but some people told me that there are special tools for a Land Rover to do the work. Is that true? I saw your post from another forum earlier using EBC.

I have 2001 Disco, I had shop change out rotors and bake pads once, and cost me fortune and sweeked terribly... so when it came time again to replace, I replaced all four rotors and brakes with EBC parts (Atlantic British kit)... they are just great!!! No noise at all, low dust, and good bite! Putting them on took me a day... I'm certainly not a skilled mechanic... mostly because I had trouble prying the rotors off (rust) off the hubs, but overall it was not so difficult... You will need a impact wrench to take the screw out the holds the rotor (looks like screwdriver with back end able to hit with hammer)... Good Luck.
