Hey all. Looking at the jack points in the shop manual, there's a reference to putting jack stands under the "chassis longitudinals". I can't find a good pic or video of what I'm aiming for with those. Does anyone know of one that I can reference?
Longitudinal = lengthwise along the body of the truck. Chassis = the solid bits of the undercarriage. It should be pretty obvious what those huge pieces of steel are when you look under there.
Ah yep, so, that's what I assumed at least inside the front and rear axles (i.e. between the anterior of the rear axle and the posterior of the front axle). What was throwing me off is this illustration and description suggesting that there's something I should be looking for behind the rear wheel (i.e. posterior to the rear axle).
The longitudinals definitely continue past the rear axle, but they start to curve upwards close to the rear so I wouldn't consider this a good candidate for lifting. You can see the rear part of the chassis in the still picture at the top of this blog thread: https://www.autoblog.com/2014/04/02/...e-lapse-video/

The lower radius arms have notches in them for the OEM LR Bottle Jack. Makes jacking up a D2 a breeze in that location or place the jack directly under the F/R axle housing.
