DISCO 2 TD5; Help with faulty electrics
Hi there. I have been in the process of repairing my 2004 Td5 Discovery since a misadventure in a fresh water creek here in Australia. My Disco got stuck in the creek and waterlogged up to about the bottom of the seat on the drivers side (right) on an angle. I have replaced the Crank Sensor, putting a fresh optima yellow top battery in and fit and programmed a new ECU to my car. The engine runs well now.
However I still have the following electrical gremlins I am seeking some advice on
- Flashing M & S lights. I have ordered a new Bosch Trans controller as the current one was soaked and may be faulty. Failing this I plan to remove/inspect/clean the XYZ switch
- Right indicator isn't working. Left works fine however when I switch to the right I get a 1 second clicking sound and a flash on the dash nothing more.
- No low beam headlights what so ever. High beam works
Any help with the above electrical problems would be appreciated.
Alex.

Welcome to the forum.
Not too many Td5 owners here on the forum mate. You can search online for the DIscovery 2 RAVE manuals that has the electrical schematic and layout.
For the M&S fault... sometimes a low voltage battery will trigger the M&S fault. Try disconnecting battery, leave for a few minutes, reconnect and leave ignition on for 5 minutes then restart and see if that works. To truly check the reason for this M&S fault is to check the trouble/fault codes with a reputable Land Rover diagnostic tester. Post the codes here on the forum if your do. Sometimes a low voltage battery will trigger the M&S fault.
For the right indicator (turn signal to us Yanks. lol)... check the fuse box on the passenger side for relay R2
For no low beam... check the fuse box on the passenger side for fuse F9 and.or F10
