Default Disco 2 Tie rod end

I was just wondering if tie rod ends are common issues on D2s. They seem pretty firm on my Disco.
Thanks.

I'm not exactly sure what you mean, but I believe you're asking if they're usually hard to get off. I'd say yes, but no more than most vehicles after 15 years. Also, I'd recommend replacing the entire drag link and track bar because only one end on each is replaceable. The other is welded. I got both of mine from lucky 8, less than $70 for one (I think) and I can't remember the price of the other.

Failure rate is around 100% over time.

Thanks for the replies. I was just wondering if this was another ingeniously engineered part like the front drive shaft or the cylinder liners. I've never had a tie rod fail on any car, and I had a 2001 Toyota Sequoia with 352k.

this is what happens when you don't put grease fittings on movable parts.

but what early make the D2 stand out is if the TRE's get bad enough the bar will make contact with the rim.
