Default Disco 2 won't start. Immobilized

Hi,

I've read all the stickies and have tried all the codes but can't get anything to work. This morning I went to go start my disco and I turned the key the engine attempted to start for a second and then alarm went off and stopped the engine from starting. I took a different car to work and got home and tried to start it again. This time it wouldn't even turn over and the led dash light was blinking rapidly. All the lights on the dash work except for the radio. Does anyone have any other suggestions? It's a 99 disco. Thanks a ton!

Battery voltage ok?

I don't know specifically about immobilization, but low battery condition can monkey around with a lot of things.

I had my horn blaring and the doors locking when I had poor battery condition recently.

I may try and pick up a new battery today. It was -6 when I tried to start it. (Chicago) Maybe when it realized it didn't have enough power to start it decided to shut it down and not even try. I'll keep you updated.

Just a quick update, it was the battery! She's back up and running.

I have a 2001 Disco 2 and have had the same issue with the immobilizer twice this week. The battery was low on charge, so after topping off the fluid and charging it, I reinstalled it back in the vehicle. The immobilizer issue remained. After uber-tightening the positive battery cable, the issue cleared. I tried following the steps to enter the generic EKA code using the driver's door lock, and it wouldn't work for me. I'm not sure what to do if/when (probably when) this happens again other than checking the terminals. Any inputs/ideas are greatly appreciated.
