Default Disco I Driver's Seat

Hi everybody! Great forum!

I bought my LR about a year and a half ago and love it. It is a green '97 Discovery and has about 86,000 miles on it now. It hasn't had so much as a flat tire yet!! I do have one issue with it though. The driver seat sits VERY high .. I am 5'11" and my head is about 1-1/2" (3.8cm) from the roof. I have the back part of it set as low is it will go and the front part as high as it will go. It is really strange. The seat is perfectly level, but the only adjustments it will do will be to let the front of the seat go WAY down and the back of the seat go WAY up. Surely no one drives that way.. ? Is this the way it is supposed to be?

Wish I could help with your question, but the seats in both my landies don't go up or down. In fact the seat in my series one you lift out so you can fill the fuel tank...

In my rover25 car, which does have a rise and fall seat, the entire seat rises up and down level, but that doe snot mean the disco the same.

i don't remember if the series I is the same as the series II..but if its the same as the series II. then you should be able to go up & down in the front and rear of the seat. but i mean i'm 5'10 and have loads of clearance above my head, so there must be a prob with the seat frame for sure...prepare yourself for a nice price though if your buy'n from the dealer
