Disco I Fuel Pump Replacement
Hey guys,
Not sure if this thread was widely known on this forum or not but I just bought a '99 Disco with a bad fuel pump and found this thread that will shave some cost off of a pump replacement. It does work and its ALOT cheaper. Just in case any one is interested.
Oh yeah, and the job is definitely pretty easy since you don't have to drop the tank.

A couple of things that thread doesn't mention.
Hose clamps in the pump assembly should be injection line clamps, not regular worm screw clamps.
You need to be very careful the clamp isn't near to touch the electrical connections in the pump. Sparks in a fuel tank aren't a good thing.

Just got a 98 Disco. Went to fill up and got fuel all over the place, Removed the cover over the fuel pump and see the fuel puddled up on the top of the pump. I see a nipple there that looks like a vacuum connection. I search and find it's the fuel tank pressure sensor vent. Where would this be connected? I looked up toward the filler neck from below the vehicle and see a small line just dangling there. is this the vent connection?
