Are Disco I and II exhaust manifolds the same?
Exhaust manifold bolts have tendency to break on any car. Most people (that I know) don't even attempt to pull those bolts without first applying heat. This isn't something that's unique to Land Rovers at all.
yes, this was the reason why I took it to "exhaust shop", they are the one that broke most studs and now keep asking for more and more money to fix the problem.
Maybe if you threaten to get a lawyer involved? They were hired to do a job, they made an error. They should carry insurance. I'm sure they have laws they have to abide by, and I'm sure breaking something and then charging the person for fixing it is against one of those laws.
I ended up paying around $200 dollers and picked up the car today after dropping it off on thursday. The price is suppose to be a big discount. Supposedly they took both manifolds off and tapped the stud holes, but surprisingly enough my own studs that I gave them were fitting perfactly even after taping. Unfortunately it looks like I might still have an exhaust leak, either a new one or the old one, I will have to use the seafoam again tonight and if the leak is still there, they will have one day of there choice to fix it. I did pay with credit card.
