Disco II dash and glove box

Disco II dash and glove box
So, can we all generally agree that the dash configuration and material quality of our Disco's dash is about on par with that of a 1986 Ford Tempo? I take immaculate care of my cars, and the Disco is no exception. I have tried and tried to quiet my noisy and poorly fitted glove box, readjusted the brackets, put lock tight on the screws, you name it.It still chatters like an old woman whenver I hit the slightest bumps. Anyone have this issue?I feel like I'm about ready to fill the whole damn thing with foam!

My disco is rock solid until we hit a gravel road then she rattles, shakes, squeeks and vibrates with a horrible orchestra of loose, cheap, plastic bits. I used well placed bits of self adhered foam to silence my glove box.

I rather like the dash configuration,I can sit a six pack and a bong up there without a problem!(just kidding). I'm not getting any rattles from my glove box yet,but I bet if you put a thin strip of dense weatherstrip(the stuff they use on pickup truck's between the cap and the box) along the edge where the glovebox door meets the dash when it closes(just under the dash trim),you would create just enough resistance to eliminate your problem. This weatherstrip is pretty low profile, and no one would even suspect it didn't belong there. I have a roll of this stuff in my garage and actually just tested it while writing this response. It snugs things up pretty good.
