Thanks, everyone. I guess if it hasn't been a problem in 10 years then I'll just let it be. I did go ahead and ordered an additional key FOB (and programmer) from RemoteKey in the UK. Interested to see how that works out.

 

If you don't fix it, just make sure to be cautious of your battery. The lock in my 04 had not worked since I bought it. Coincidentally, I fixed my pin with one of Abran's monsters and literally a few days later my battery died. It was winter, and so dead that the fob did nothing. So, I would have been in real trouble if the key didn't work.
