Disco II knock.. changed everything, now what?
If you first start it up and there is no knock - and you need to drive it about 10 minutes
and then there is a rap, rap, rap, it could be a slipped liner.
What do you mean by blow by on #7?
You could have a bad cylinder head gasket.

Thanks for the info.
Is coolant going down every week or two?
If that sound is a rap rap rap sort of tinny - then probably a liner.
If you sit in park and have it idle it raps.
If you take the RPM's up - the RAP will stop as the rings on the piston can't grab the
liner fast enough and smack it against the head.
People do pin the liner with a screw into the bottom of the liner below the travel of the piston rings.
There are write-ups on this BB.

You dont need to do anything other than buy a different thermostat, the colder one.
Call Trevor at Land Rover Parts and Accessories from RovahFarm and tell him you need the "colder" t-stat.
Install, problem solved.
Cost is under $50 and takes 15min.
You have a cylinder liner that is moving once warmed up, no test can find it, it is what it is, the only true fix is a new engine.
The different t-stat will keep the engine cooler so the liner wont move.
