Default Disco II one single TICK sound on warmup

I have something Ive been wondering... on warmup first 2 minutes, randomly I get one TICK sound then not again.... usually around 2 minutes in... sounds like its in the passenger side valve cover.... maybe a sticking lifter that frees up? Im running rotella T6 oil.... engine is running great otherwise.... when I hear the one TICK sound once there is no misfire or code triggered or anything.... I might have seen the RPM go down for a second but I haven't been able to repeat it so that could just be coincidence when the startup procedure idled down... engine temps runs within range...

Maybe a "loud" relay or valve - perhaps for SAI if so equipped. IMHO if it was a sticking lifter there would continuous noise and then a change.

If not the SAI, it is just you are using thicker oil than specified when new,and it doesn't flow fast enough when cold. Sounds normal.

ok Ill look for that... as for the other post, Im using the rotella T6 5W-40 but it has been loosing some oil maybe normal land rover I see it on front and back of motor but not really at head gasket... maybe filter is gummed up from the cleaning flush when I first got it and then running rotella last 2000 miles.... Ill change that again and see whats up... Ill get a video if I can too...

Oh yeah, and I do have SAI pump and it is a little noisy at startup... I did change that filter but didnt really do anything much as far as sound...

My 2004 at 85k always does that. Check if it is the same noise when it is cooling after engine shutoff. If so, it's just metal dilatation.
