disco II rear left door lock

disco II rear left door lock

is there anyway to fix a lock that will not respond to the lock and unlock buttons on the key and the buttons inside the car, without taking it to a shop?

can you pull off a door panel and replace a door latch assembly yourself?
do you have a copy of the "rave disc" to review the operation?
