Thanks for the great suggestions! Yea the $800 is a jagged pill to swallow. I will try taking the shaft out first in that it appears the easiest to do (relatively) and then move the joints around. If there is ANY resistance ill know. Those parts are much cheaper to replace. It gives me a starting point at least.

C'mon people...close the thread by telling us what was wrong.

I'm having the exact same problem. And it's like reading a great book that's missing the last 10 pages.

Anybody had the same problem? If you did you'd know it by the symptoms the OP described.

Sounds like the steering shaft. We over at the land of the silver star have seen that problem with some of our product as well...
U-joint in the steering shaft is what goes bad.

I'm having the same problem myself and came across this thread. Soon as I fix one thing, something else pops up..
