Talking Disco II Tool-Kit (on board)

So... I like to keep tools handy for most emergencies when traveling or off-road. I set up a good one for my bikes (BMW F8 and Sertao) and LR3 based on some feedback in the blogs... but don't see much in response to my queries in here. Has anybody made the 'ideal' tool list and want to share? I don't like to carry what I don't need (ie: just the right sockets, not a whole kit, etc).
Since my 2000 Disco 2 is new to me, and I have only been a LR3 owner the last ten years... I need to start fresh.
If not, I will share after I work one up... just have to check sizes of basically - everything... lol

I keep a simple tool kit in the rear bins:
- Gerber multi-tool
- NOCO GB-70 jump pack
- 24" breaker bar with 1/2" drive for removing lug nuts
- LED flashlight
- tire pressure gauge
- roll of duct tape
- an empty plastic 1 gallon gas can
- bag of various hose clamps
- Foxwell NT-510 diagnostic tester. I keep the Nanocom at home!
- bag of various amperage resettable fuses
- and extra parts... semi used fan belt, used MAF sensor, used crankshaft position sensor, 2 each 1' length of 4x4 blocks of wood so my bottle jack can reach due to my lift

Pretty much what I had the last 2600 miles from MA to Phoenix. A screw driver...

You can do an awful lot with just a screwdriver on these vehicles. I'm in the same boat as you as I'd like to trim down my tool kit as I carry way too much (although it has come in handy as CO has a lot of people on trails and not all are prepared for much...). Just from various work on my vehicle the obvious metric sizes (8,10,12,13,14,17) in each 1/4, 3/8, and 1/2 drives and a deep well or two should cover most things. A spare/used serp belt and various fuses is a good idea. A spare rotoflex is another good assurance.

I carry a lot of tools, but key tools are sockets from 8mm to 27mm with 1/4" 3/8" and 1/2" ratchets and a 1/2 drive breaker bar, wrenches from 8mm to 17mm, a very large adjustable crescent wrench, pliers, wire cutters, screwdrivers, long handle needle nose pliers (critical for CPS replacement), tire pressure gauge, ball peen hammer and a flashlight. I actually carry a lot more than that, but I have done pretty significant surgery in the parking lot of a hotel so I prefer to be over-prepared.

oh and if off-roading and especially if more intense rock crawling a small 3lb baby sledge will find it's way into the mix in case something needs a little convincing to get back to civilization. I've done a pretty number on a rock slider that still needs some convincing to avoid contact with the driver door when opening and closing it.
