DiscoMike helped talk me through my new engine. I was a total noob. I gotta put in a good word for him for that. He seemed to genuinely want to help me.

I love Mike. People that let attitudes bother them have nothing better to do. You're here for help or too help then do it. Why let how someone responds bother you? His answers were generally correct, ALWAYS RESPONDED, and to be able to call someone in today's world and get FREE advice? From someone with mechanical knowledge on rovers?

I know I come off salty to some, but when some issues are so blatant and you know the answer...

you gotta remember to be humble as someone else is taking their time to help regardless if they are right.

be thankful. I know what's it like to post on forums and never get an answer.

True.
However, There are instances where people are so jaded that they can’t help but be condescending and rude. Which I never see in any of Mikes posts in my searches for answers..at least yet.. But in those cases I’ll fire back a bit and if it persists then I simply PM those people and tell them that if they see a thread from me, don’t bother responding...or just block/ignore them if that function is available..it’s a great function. I’m a person that gets interested in many hobbies and activities and forums/YouTube have been pure gold! For the vast majority of the time people have been great and I try to return the favor once I have the knowledge. Always stay humble and grateful.

Default Haven’t been on here in a while

i haven’t been on here in a while... I suppose that’s a good thing - no major issues with the Discovery 2!

Gravitated to the Disco Mike posting. When I first became an owner (in like 2010), I was a voracious reader of the forum (and needed to be, as I suffered the three amigos, water pump failure, etc. in first year or so of ownership). My recollection of his advice for any new owner (among other things), was a brake flush “with at least X amount of <specific> fluid.” It was in every freaking post. The exact advice should be burned into my memory, but alas I am getting old...

I do recall him being a bit abrasive...

It stalled a couple of times, and needed a pump or two of the pedal to restart. No codes, and so I filled up with Premium, put in some sea foam, and so far so good.

It runs great actually, and the idle seems smoother. When it warms up I am going to inspect the tank and pump. I’m thinking maybe I got some water in the tank or bad gas or something at some point. I’m picking up my little guy from daycare every day now, but prior to that would log very few miles, and gas could sit in there for a couple of months.

Default Disco mike.....

I got into a huge beef with him about putting a plow on my disco he was adamant about you cannot put a plow on a disco and I asked him why not his answer was because it can't be done. I asked him to answer the question in technical terms or in opinions he PM me and threatened to throw me off the site if I argued with him again.....I just laughed he never threw me out now that I own 2 discos and one range rover sport I am happy and I got to tell you I was looking to talk with Mike
