I searched for his name and came up with entries on ancestry.com for someone with his name who was a resident of Englewood, CO that passed away February 12, 2018 in Greeley, CO.

There are (were?) others on the forum who knew him. Perhaps they will weigh in.

Did the entry list a birth date of April 7, 1946?

I hadn't seen Mike in years. Not even sure what year it was. Went out wheeling. IIRC, he was on oxygen at that point in time.

Someone on anther LR forum mentioned they still kept in touch with Disco Mike maybe 6 months ago.
The members tried to do a voluntary money collection which the proceeds would go to Disco Mike for his years of help on the forums. That quickly died out though.

Disco Mike helped me rebuild my first 4.0 in a 2001 almost 10 years ago now. I didn't take the heads to a machine shop like he said and the engine blew coolant straight into the exhaust. Called me an idiot. And I was for doing that. If I never did that first rebuild I don't believe I would've ever gotten into auto repair as my career all those years ago. I still like the guy. He was always willing to chime in. No one is perfect. I hope the guy is ok.

Hoping that's not him, as a new member I often find his responses and posts and have used his advice, as silly and excessive as it may be sometimes... regardless of opinions hes lived a legacy in this community. Took my landrover which I got in Greeley to the mechanic right after I got it, he said it was in the best shape he's seen from a 20 year old discovery, sure it had its problems... wonder if disco mike blessed it. It was registered in Englewood originally as well... maybe I got lucky and got one of discos babies? Haha 🤣

I remember I called him within the first year of owning my discovery in 2007-08 and he was nice on the phone. I live in north Denver, I think he had a gold D2. I always keep an eye out for it.

I hope he’s okay. He had excellent advice and was very active. Very knowledgeable fellow.
