Unhappy disco owners, need advice, im buying

ok, there are two discoveries for sale near me
one is a 98 with 140k on it and the other is a 96 with 75k on it
there both in the same shap and run exelent(right now)
both are GAS powerd, both have the same owner

the only differnce is the price,

my problem is i know that there known for problems and the 98 disco seams to be the one that iv read less complaints about and seam to have less problems, BUT it has 140k in it...
the 96 with 75K are know for leaky moon roof, transaxle leak, and verius recalls (idk but im assuming they have been done)

i would just like your opinion on what you all thing is the better one to buy price wise i can deffinatly aford one or the other

Only 75K is exceptionally low for a 96. That is the one I would look at. Each succeeding year with the D1 saw them get a little better but at only half the milage of the 98 that is the one I would look at if it is indeed in good shape.

Hi,
This is one of the questions that has been asked over and over again.
A sticky thread "What to look for in a Disco" is perhaps a good idea.
Cheers.

well I looked at them both, the one with 75k on it is accualy a 95 and is in great shape
The 98 is also in exelent shape, and has alot more newer parts on it
Both were maintained verry well it looks

Get the '98, it has electronic ignition and '95 has a distribitor.
They will get the same MPG but the '98 has better emission controls and will pollute less.

Get the 95.. its alot cheaper and easier to work on a vehicle without electronic ignition..
Gas mileage will be the same, and its got half the miles
