Exclamation Disco rear air bag leak...help!

The rear right air bag on our disco randomly goes out and drops. Some times it will be fine, and others it will just go down and the disco bounces pretty bad. I have heard that these are relatively easy to replace yourself if you buy the replacement bag but then I get estimates and they are talking over $1000. If anyone has any suggestions on where to get the best replacement or were I can get literature on how to replace it, I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks

First, based on what you have said, I doubt your bags is the problem. If it randomly drops, doesn't drop when sitting over night or for more then 24 hours, the it is an electrical issue between the ECU and the SLS control unit/pump.
Send me your tele number and I'll walk you thru a few things to check.

If they are fine sometimes, and not others, it may not be the airbags. Get some soapy water and put it all over the airbag and look for bubbles. Check around the connections too. Is it low after it's parked for a while? When it's low, does it pump up quickly when the truck is started? FYI - The pump will not run if a door is open, so make sure they are all closed. If they aren't leaking, it may be the pump, which is located under the truck on the drivers side, right in the middle. Check the bags first and get back to us.

BTW - Arnott sells bags with a lifetime warranty. You can also find OEM at British Atlantic. I replaced mine with the Arnott's and they have been great.

I would check out www.discovery2.co.uk, he has a really great article/picture guide of how to replace the rear air spring. The Arnott Bags look like a really great deal too.

He most likely doesn't need bags, or may not be in much of a hurry since he has not replied.
