I don't know why this is bothering me, but it has been so here goes.

What is the recommended redline rpm on a 4.6L DII? I've checked the manual and the internet to no avail and there are no markings on the tachometer.

Don't worry about it, first you would have to be going down hill, full throttle with a tail wind to reach it. There is a built in rev limiter that won't let you wind her up too tight.

I'll tell ya what.....Put to the wood and it will suprise you.....I never or might I say once or twice have done it(since new 04)....Just the other day put a new tank of fuel in after a seafoam treatment.And from always running mid grade and now running high oct (93).....Lets say it suprised my.

Every so often there is something new I find out about my 04 disco,performance,build etc....and I like it even more than the day I bought it.......And I need that because I was always one to get a new vech. every two years....That being said I'll keep it till the wheels fall off.........ROCK ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 

I have had mine to 5200 rpm.

My ECM has been remaped.

 

If I hammer my 99 4.0 while in sport mode it shifts right at 5500 and man is is screaming at that point.....really freaks me out and i don't do it very often.
