Are you running a stock bumper, if so I don't have an idea. I would say that dropping a winch on a stock suspension may make it nose heavy.

oh dear..

stock = factory original.

I would reconsider your choice of trying to mount a winch yourself if youre stuck on square 1. There will be alot of weight and force put on a winch and it's mounts..

It's going to require alot of custom fabrication. There is not going to be any 'good' spot to put the winch. I would suggest looking into an aftermarket ARB bumper with winch mount. Also you will need to upgrade your shocks and springs to support the weight of the winch and bumper.

www.atlanticbritish.com
This will give you ideas, just search for Discovey I and use the lowest year that they show, we dont have '93's here only '95's and up.
You will have better luck finding it locally, if your friend can build you one off of the pictures great.
But yes you will need 4 new springs and shocks.
Go to www.4x4wire.com and click on the banner ads, lots of off road equipment.
You can also do a google search for ARB bumpers, or just type in Land Rover winch bumper.
