Default This "thing" (base of windshield) is cracked..

Any idea why/how this would happen? Is this common?

I'm pretty sure this was cracked when I bought the Disco, I just never looked that close at it before (until I examined it, I actually thought that this was supposed to be two pieces that just were just a little misaligned).

Anyone know what this is called, so that I can look for a replacement?

Why make such a production out of this, call the dealer and order the lower trim plate for your windshield.

Keep up the learning process.
By the way, that is an easy part to replace so don't pay a shop to do it.

Haha with a name like that, no way it would be cheap!

What about pulling it off, JB Welding it, and then giving it a nice coat of paint to cover the seam?
