Angry The Disco's been acting up!!!! Ya gotta hear this!

So last month the brake light switch **** the bed, obviously I could not start the rig until I replaced the switch. $12 part and super easy to replace. ... ... luckily the switch **** the bed in my driveway...

Now something else is going out on me because Im having issues starting the truck. All the symptoms point to a bad crankshaft position sensor. Had issues starting the truck today and at one point I go stuck at a dam intersection for 35 minutes! First person to drive by yelled out that I was ignorant, the second person (in a older jeep) offered to give a jumper boost so I explained that my CPS **** the bed... then a cop drove right by me slowly and did not even stop to see if everything was alright! Then 2 lovely ladies parked right behind me and just sat there (they were gorgeous ) then an old lady and a big dude came over and helped me push the Disco to the side of the road. MAN WHAT A ****ING DAY!!!!!!

Anyways could potential be the inertia switch or the fuel pump... but Im starting with the CPS. Gonna replace it myself tomorrow.
Pisses me off though cause just this past Saturday I finally got around to replacing the worn out tie rods and I even gave it a nice detailing at the shop while I was there - figured Id spoil the Disco while I had the access. ... I guess this is the THANKS I get!!!! HOW EMBARRASSING!

I've never known anyone to have so many problems with their discos. You have some bad luck.

Ehh no where near as bad as my former 98 D1. I had a little trouble with the brakes mostly cause I took to long to replace the pads and did not have the right tools on hand. Also had an issue removing the old joint thing from the rear driveshaft. But Otherwiset the only real issues Ive had is with this Disco is the brake light switch, bad tie rods and currently the CPS. In any case she does have 133k on her now so its quit imaginable that sensors and suspension parts start crapping out on me. I just wish they could WAIT until I have more $$$$!

But yes today was pure BAD LUCK! Started yesterday with a co-worker quitting without giving his notice, and its gradually gotten worse ever sense!

I would suggest you swap the fuel pump relay with the washer relay before you do anything else. Takes 10 seconds to check and causes symptoms very similar to cps.

Good luck.

where are those 2 relays located? Under the hood in the fuse box?

Yep, and if you think it is the crank position sensor, test for sparks. Sensor usually acts up when hot, then resets when block cools. You can speed up with a bottle of cold water poured on sensor.

Check the inertia switch. Push it back down.
Check the fuel pump fuse.

Have someone listen for the fuel pump go on at key on.
I can't hear mine in the 2001 disco.

Check for spark.
If you have spark at a plug, then the CPS is OK.
