Default discovery 2 engine clicking

i always hear clicking coming from the engine. i always change the oil and it does not matter. is the oil pump bad? sometimes this clicking can be louder than normal. this is a 99 disco 2 with 150,000. i believe its the version without an oil cooler if that matters. Land Rover told me this is the "characteristic" of the engine. whatever that means. any help???

Do you mean clicking or ticking?
If it is a ticking that increses with the engine speed then yes, the mechaninc is correct, dont worry about it.

What have you checked so far, is it exhaust or the engine, how often do you change oil, what brand of oil filter and have you ever flushed out your engine?????
