the Roof Rack Cross bar is the Land Rover OEM cross bars they offered for the 2004 model. They are hard to find but I was able find a pair on Craig's List

Would be nice if it was lockable... but looks well sorted.
Not sure I could spend this much on my build, but have my envy showing...

Hello,
I'm looking for a high level storage shelf for my Disco 2 but I have some doubts.... Do you know how much is the overall weight of this storage shelf? Does it use the same factory M5 bolts from the grab handles or is neccesary increase the diameter like a M6 or M7 for example?
I ask this because I want to have this shelf manufactured locally in Chile, the shipping cost is very high from UK for this accessory

I recently made a high level storage shelf (my first ever welding project) to hold camp kitchen supplies. I’m using M5 bolts because there are already two tapped holes near the rear of the truck behind the body panel. I’m not carrying anything heavy and they seem to do the trick. I’ve been wanting to show it off in the main page soon so be on the lookout for that

I like the shelf, but because I camp in my Disco, I would be afraid of waking up with a start and bashing my head into it.

If you noticed the paint matched flairs, did you notice he also removed the rubbing strips to give it a really clean look?

It is possible in 2004 that it didn't come with the side moulding (rubbing) as I know my 2003 S model doesn't have them. I prefer the look without that strip anyway.

My 2003 SE came with the strip. Being Alveston Red, it kind of disappears unless you are looking for it.
