Default OEM vs After Market

My local Land Rover shop(not a dealer) says that I need to use an OEM ignition coil and wires on my 2003 Disco II, due to the aftermarket ones not fitting correctly and wearing out prematurely.

Can you offer any feedback on OEM vs AM on ignition pack, coil and wires?

Thanks!

Tim

First, in the future, don't add to a 3 year old thread, start a new one.
As for your mechanic, he is so full of crap. You don't need coils, you do want a set of 8 mm silicone wires like Magnacor's or STI and any good plug wire.
Why are you letting him do a tune up at the prices he is probably charging, all the wires and plugs will cost you about $150, you need to ask for help and do it yourself.

Feeling rebellious. Replying to a 11 year old thread. Come at me.
