I dont know about Canada, but here in the US it is very hard to import cars, they must meet US emissions standards before you can put licence plate on them, and pass customs, and tax, and shipping, and shipping again, bacause it has to come over by ship, and then get to your state, and you cannot drive it because you dont have a plate for it.
So to import one to the States would be just as expensive as doing the converstion. Plus the price of the trk.

 

Canada importing is 15 years old.
U.S. is 25 years.

 

The rovers im looking at are all around 3-4k so imporing a car would cost around not to mention all the brokers and stuff.
