It leaks like one or two drops in the parking lot. Last time , when i gave service at 60k, the dealer suggested to change the head gaskets both top and bottom (i think) , during the 67.5 miles service , quote me 4500K. I am looking for a mechanic around bay area to do the gasket change.

well first off there is no top and bottom head gasket, theres a right and left. Was he talking about your valve cover gaskets and oil pan gaskets. Also it could be a main seal leaking. To change rear main, valve covers, and oip pan gaskets, it should not cost even a dealer $4,500 (I hope you did not mean 4500K) If it cots 4,500 bucks to do that then i am going to just get into the gasket business. Head gaskets cost more but should be between 1,000-2,000 bucks to change. If it is a few drops or like a 1/2 quart every oil change i would not worry.

I had a talk with the dealer, they said Head gasket both left and right ($2650 for parts and labour), and rear main seal ,oil pan gasket ($1540). Is it worth ? I need to do the service with in another 2500 miles.

thanks

wow thats pretty expensive, glad i do my own repairs. I would not pay that much, but I can do all that myself. I would check with other mechanics that have a good rep, could save about 1/2 of that.
