Angry Discovery II - Too Many Lights! It's the FIVE Amigo's!

Hello, people that know a lot more about these issues than myself-

I have a 2001 LR Discovery that I absolutely love! She's in great shape, with about 110,000 miles and she's never given me any real problems...yet.

Here's the deal. About a week ago my temp gauge stopped working and my BRAKE, TC and ABS light all came on. I brought her in to my trusty mechanic here in Los Angeles (and I mean that - he's really great, fair and affordable and he's the only one I want working on my girl). He replaced the dashboard cluster and gauge, and that obviously fixed the temperature gauge issue, however, the following lights are on...even more than before the cluster was replaced, BRAKE, TC, ABS, ROLL OVER and DECENT. He says that the lights could have been on all along, but weren't showing due to the fact that the cluster was bad.

Please note that I just had a complete brake job done. He says she needs a new SHUTTLE VALVE. I have no idea what that is, all I know is it's supposed to cost me even more than the $500 I just spent on a new dash cluster (with parts and labor).

So, any insight or advice would be much appreciated. I'd like to save money and at the same time not have to drive around with my dashboard lit up like a Christmas tree!

Thank you!

Dan

ok, you could have a number of issues going on. but we cant tell you anything unless you have the codes read and list them verbatim on here. then we can and will help you. Until that point, we have nothing to go on. Also, does your truck have ACE as well?

Do you have any codes, or if you don't have your own reader, may want to stop by a parts store and they will read them for free. You certainly could have more going on than the 3 Amigos, and driving around might be a problem in LA, or closer to me, Lower Alabama...

That makes sense. I'll get the codes read and come back and try again. I'm planning on taking it back to my mechanic tomorrow anyhow.

Thanks for the input. Have a nice evening.

I bought a shuttle valve made by Wabco on ebay from Miami Rovers for $83 shipped and the seals from Falconworks for $46 shipped. Look at the sticky Josh posted about doing it yourself. Im going to do option B. It seems pretty straight forward.

Where in L.A. are you? If you're close i've got a code reader that you can use to read what you have going on. As far as the abs codes i cant do anything for you there since my code reader is an engine only one..
