Discovery II Won't Start
I've been searching the forums, but can't quite find a thread that resonates.
My 2004 Discovery has been driving great including today when I headed over to Home Depot. When I went to leave, it wouldn't start. It wouldn't even turn over. Battery is completely charged. Everything lights up bright and shiny, but no crank. While waiting for a tow, I tried everything I could find on these forums. Tried locking and unlocking the doors. Checked the connections to the battery despite it being charged. Plugged in the diagnostic tool (no codes). Nothing.
Is this a crankshaft position sensor problem? Starter? Ignition switch?

Look at the theft LED. Flashing when the key is in and turned on?
Did you try to unlock and lock the doors about 5 times with the Keyfob?
If it does not crank - could be the starter. You need to follow the current / voltage trail from the starter on back.

Thought it might be theft immobilization, but that does not appear to be the case. I did do the unlock and lock dance using the Keyfob 5-8 times with no change in what was happening. The starter definitely seems like a possibility, but I've never seen a starter go from totally fine to dead. Everything had been status quo in terms of starting.
Bang on starter with hammer sized object. If it cranks, the solenoid is flakey, and will act up again.
Swap out starter relay in under hood box.
Try to jump solenoid to plus battery lead on big bolt of starter. TO do this you are under truck, so be sure that if it starts, you have brakes set, etc.
