Maybe he's winching someone out of a hole? The angle of the pic and how the tree-line corresponds to the cable looks a bit out of kilter for him to be winching himself anywhere.

because the rules clearly state that if you are gonna drive something ugly you gotta be 3 things when you get there - covered in mud, drunk and SUNBURNT! - the third portion of the rule most clearly means that it has to have a softtop...
(he obviously isnt on a public road so the DUI proviso to portion 2 doesnt apply)

chopping a disco is doable but making it a soft top would be A LOT more work..you'd have to be really good at fabrication to make it look right.

 

Thats a 3 door DI, they only sold those in other parts of the world like the UK, and that guy is obviously driving on the wrong side.
Its prob a diesel too...bastards.
