I just checked out the Turner website. Impressive. I'm sure their final product is very nice. Another suggestion would be to find a block stateside that passes a pressure test and go to D&D Fabrications or LA Sleeve and have a local engine shop install some top hat liners. This would take less time and probably be cheaper.

Just another option.

wonder about buying Turner's sleeves and having another shop install them:

But I guess that would NOT help with a crack in the block behind the liner...

According to Robison, the tophat liners would help with the crack, as it sandwiches the line between the block and headgasket, not allowing the gasses to creep down there as easily.

BUT wouldn't it prevent the combustion gasses from leaking into your coolant?

BTW, I'd love to get a new block if mine craps out, but that's a little steep...what, something around $2k?

Great price on the front cover though:

For those within the death range (like me) who'll need to replace the front cover, $317 US + freight aint bad at ALL (AB is $649).

Thumbs up Turner Oil pump

Will you pass on the update when you get it from Turner? I'd like to find out since I'm in that Vin range too but I don't want to beat a dead horse if someone else is inquiring. My horse is not dead... yet.

Thanks-
Zonk

NP, just happened to see it, hopefully that is the correct cover for our VINs.

+3 on sharing the shipping quote though. I might grab one of those to have handy when my oil pressure starts to dip.

This block claims to solve the cylinder sleeve problem: http://www.roverparts.com/Parts/9257D.cfm

Do you think it has the top hat sleeves? If not, what is the opinion on this short block?
