The new short blocks that British Atlantic is selling are manufactured by RPI Engineering. British Atlantic just refers to them as Cos Cast block, probably an attempt to hide who their supplier is.

you all seem willing to spend a lot of money on a knock. TurboDave didn't even have any issues with the engine, yet sank how much to get rid of a noise.

I had a the knock come back a few weeks ago, after being gone for 6 months ( think it was a vacuum issue), but it is gone after a week in the desert...in fact, it went away after a good 10K foot summit and 200+ miles. Perhaps there is too much of a penchant for babying these engines. Ride them hard, but them to bed exhausted.

BTW, my 87 RRC overheated a bunch of times and never needed head gaskets. And my 04 was consistently overheating when I got it. So far, so good.
