Default Do I have a choke?

Hello all,

2000 LR Disco II has developed an odd problem. It starts poorly and then almost dies after I back out of my driveway and put it in Drive. After about a minute it works just fine. It is acting like my old lawn mower with the manual choke. Once it warms up it runs fine all day. I have never had this issue before (and I have owned it since 1999).

I always use Premium gas. I have been through several tanks since the problem started.

This problem started after I did the top end sea foam clean, cleaned the throttle body, and cleaned the MAF. It seems to be getting worse.

Any ideas?

Best,

Charlie V

Go back and double check your work, make sure you plugged the idle control valve back in.
Of course you dont have a choke, you know that.
Try letting it warm up in your driveway for a min or so before backing.

I have a persistent vacuum leak somewhere that affects the recovery of my brake booster. Could that be the problem? I have my eye in the front most vacuum fitting on the throttle body. When I swapped the engine (for the same model) I had some trouble taking the tiny red ring off. Is there an o ring in there? Oh heck I'll look but it is almost surely something I did. Thanks for the input. I'll report what I find.
