Default Do I have Waxoyl?

Probably a stupid question but I have not been underneath many Rovers...yet

I was impressed with the lack of rust on our 04 when we bought it but did all of them come with some sort of rubberized undercoating or do I have Waxoyl or something else?

Doubtful, it looks like the rubberized stuff on all D2 wheel wells. Here's a quick test - Go to your chassis and rub your finger against it hard. If your finger is black it has Waxoyl. It's great stuff, definitely saved my Rover over this past winter. It is also darker than the image you have there, here's a photo I took recently, you can see everything that's not covered in dirt is a darker black.

Thanks, that pic is not the wheel well, its under the rear passenger seats. The entire underframe is covered in it. I'll try the finger test but it feels more like rubber than an oil film.

Wheel wells, not wheels. The wheel well is the area around the wheel, which is coated in a matte rubberized coating.

Oh sorry, it appears all the body(the body is separate from the chassis) is coated with it. The chassis is just painted.

I've had that on a number of vehicles. I believe it's like Truck Bed Liner spray. I'm not sure if it's factory, or if the dealer sold it as an extra. Years ago, I added it to a new Toyota I bought for an extra $500. One of those extras they try to sell you on the way out the door, and I went for it.
