Default Do I have to have the amp in order for my radionics to work?

I have a 2003 landrover discovery and I'm not getting any sound from my speakers radio powers on fine I took the amp out from under the passenger seat because someone told me that it my be a possibility that it was bad. So my question is do I have to have it or is there a way I can just connect wires together to bypass the amp? Some body heeeellllpppp!!! I would truly appreciate it!

On my 2000 all the speaker wires run to the connector plug that plugs into the amp. So if there is no amp there is no speakers hooked up.

you need the amp for it to work. I don't think it makes all that much sense to start cutting wires to eliminate a part that is just not very expensive used. have you checked the fuse?

You can put in an aftermarket amp. You will just have to use the wiring diagram from the RAVE and splice the wires. That's how I'm setup.

Does the aftermarket amp sound better than the stock one?

It will depend on what amp you put in. Just find one you like, just nothing to powerful as to not blow your speakers.

Probably not with the stock speakers. Do you have the sat-nav head unit and have you checked all the fuses in the pass compartment fuse box. There are a few that can affect the radio, all are 15A and not all are labeled correctly on the diagram which is why I suggest pulling and checking all the 15A fuses.
