Default Do I sell my Disco?

I am 16 and I bought my first car in July which is a 2002 Discovery with 130,00 miles. As soon as we bought it we took it to our local Land Rover specialist and asked him to inspect it for us. He completed $3,000 in repairs and told us it should be good to go. Since then we have done another $7,000 in repairs. My dad and I each split the costs of repairs but me being only 16, I don't know if I can keep it up because I have very little money left. Do I cut my losses or should the problems start to minimize.

Wow, you need to stop paying someone else to work on it, buy a set of tools, and spend more time on the forums and youtube.

yeah... I’d like to know too, in a detailed list, of what warrants $10K in repairs on an aging $1500 truck. Lol

Also it would be a public service to let people know what shop did this so they can be avoided in the future.

Before you do another "repair"...

Post the problem here and we will discuss it. Get your dad here to read them as well. Make a father, son project out of it.

What you just did is RIDICULOUS.

You could have bought 2 trucks with that money.

Too bad that was your first experience w/Disco!! Doubtful you will get your money back on a sale. Unless something major is wrong, drive it until it dies. If something major is wrong, and it is running, consider trading it in on a Hoouunndie , 10 yr 10,000 mile PT warranty! That ride should last you through your first marriage and two careers....

It's really not your fault, you were born this way!

Dood. You are 16!!! Sell the damn Land Rover and get a Honda. Put your money in a Roth IRA or interest bearing savings account and never touch it! Ever. Trust me.

Sorry for your loss of $10k. That crap makes me ill.
