Dome & glove box lighting
Before I take an *** chewing I have looked through thread after thread trying to help me out on this issue. My interior lights & glove box lights stopped working I guess sometime back. I have checked every single fuse under the dash in the engine compartment, I even checked the bulbs them self. The only fuse I have'nt checked and I have heard it mentioned is in the glove compartment, where is the fuse located at. I have looked inside the compartment as I thought I read that. I mean its gettting to a point where I want to set a match to the thing. With the doors open, closed, switch turned to ON / OFF...Absolutely nothing. Heres something funny, I did notice when I put in my new Crank case pressure sensor on Sunday the buzzer for the door being open started working. How freaking weird are these machines & the way they operate. Anyone - anyone.

Likely a door switch, or all of them...
My 02 DII had an intermittent problem in the dome lights. Sometimes they're there, sometimes not, no rhyme or reason. Tracked it down to a door switch.

What are the chances that all of them are bad including the rear door. Is there any way to test door sensors or do you just gamble and buy new ones?
Once again thank you guys for your imput on these issues.

find the wiring for each door trigger as close to the switch as possible, (you will need the wiring colors, or to tell me the year and model disco) then test it with a test light or meter. usually these door triggers are negative and will rest at neutral (meaning there is nothing on the wire while the door is closed, then show a connection to ground when the door is opened). If you need more help I can offer it when I know more info on the truck. what is most likely happening is the truck thinks there is a door always open and after a while the lights shut off, I may suggest spraying a LITTLE wd-40 in each of the 5 door switches first.

Rover Chris my truck is a 02 Disco / SD. So when I test these switches with a test light do I test them with the doors open or closed. I'm assuming with the doors open. Even when I'm in the vehicle with all the doors closed and I try moving the switch to the ON /OFF position and even in the door position when the door(s) are open I have nothing on all 3 sets of lights ( front, center & rear ).
the drivers door wire will be purple\white and the other 4 doors will be purple/lt. green. these wires should be located in the kick panels for the front doors (there should be a hole somewhere in the metal behind the panel with wires coming through and you will look in there) and on the B posts for the back doors (same thing as before a hole under each panel). the cargo door should be somewhat near the taillight access close to the door trigger switch (on the hinge side).
when using a test light you will need to probe the target wire with the light and attach the other side of the light to a 12 volt source, if a door trigger is working correctly the test light should go on when that specific door is opened. If none of the doors are turning on your test light with this method, there are a few other questions I will have to ask.
if you have any problems with this let me know.
