This afternoon I pulled the "plug" from the end of the hose connected to the upper intake that used to run to the TBH.

Not a hint of "sludge". Clean as a whistle.

Theories are useful. Facts are better.

There's clearly nuthin' wrong with running a line from the upper intake to the expansion tank. Go ahead and do that if it makes you feel better. But I think the facts I have reported show it's not necessary and there is no problem with just plugging the lines.

All the times I ever saw goo on those plugged lines = D2 still had Dexcool in it. #1 thing is ditching the stupid TBH!!
