Door latch problem

My 94 disco 1 driver side door latch is getting really hard to open. You have to pull it 3 or 4 times before it opens. Anyone have this problems and have any idea how to fix it?

You might try cleaning and lubing the latch assemby, it may already be too far gone since you didn't act on this sooner.

Is it hard to open only from the outside? If so, you might get away with adjusting the rod that goes from the handle to the latch. I was able to do that to mine on the passenger side.
