Default Door latch springs replaced, door lock issue resolved

Here's another one for the archives.

I've always had issues with not being able to open the door after unlocking the locks. After unlocking the lock and lifting the door handle (inside or outside handle) the lock would go back down by itself which would prevent me from opening the door. After searching differentLR forums, I was pretty sure it wasa broken spring. There are many threads out there from different LR forums that goes into detail on how to remove the latch and window frame.

Removing the front door latch required removal or raising of the window fame. I also chooe to remove the front latch with the rods still attached.

Here are a couple picsof the broken spring in the LF door latch.

A broken and new spring

I got the springs from a seller on eBay located in UK. Search "discovery door lock" or by the sellers name "phillipstuart33" Even though I only needed the LF and LR springs, I orderedthe 5 spring kit for $33 delivered. One spring for each door plus the rear tailgate.

The rear door latch was a lot easier to remove because it did nt requie removal of the window frame.

11 days had passed from when I removed and installed the front door latch. It was a challenge for my photographic memory on how to re-install the latch. So I taped a copy of the latch assembly onto the door.

While I was in there I had to replace the LF window regulator. One of the nylon roller bearing broke which caused the window to bind and not move.
