Default Blower Motor issue resolved! Thank you LR Forums!

Just wanted to take a moment to thank everyone who has posted with regard to tips and tricks for fixing the nortorous D2 A/C, HVAC, blower motor quitting. After reading all the posts and doing the various tests and tracking, was able to fix mine last night. Just in time for 20 degree temps and snow here in northwest Indiana!

Did the bypass with the brown/red and brown/pink wires behind the interior fuse box. Added the in-line fuse and fired up like a champ! Hands are cut up pretty bad, as that fuse box is NOT easy to work with under there, but worth it to have heat again!

Again, a thank you to all who have posted about this subject and many subjects that I have found beneficial for my BBQ Rig!

Happy Holidays!

Hello,

I'm having the same issue you were experiencing and I have traced it down to the #7 fuse as well. I have pulled the interior fusebox to run the bypass but I'm having a hard time identifying which wires corespond with fuse #7. I have found a couple of brown/red wires but no brown/pink. Is there a particular plug you could help me narrow this down to or has anyone posted a write up with pics? Thanks!

Two connectors involved, 584 and 581, see attached from Rave Electrical Library, and diagram for the RAVE circuits pages. Those little numbers beside each wire where it joins a device indicate the connector and pin number, so easy to pull up of pix of it in most cases.

Got it! Sorry, in my haste to have heat on these freezing mornings I guess I did not do as good a job searching as I should have.

Regardless all fixed and good to go now

It might not be a bad idea to sticky those pdf's as well as this post below. Might keep newbs like me from asking silly questions.

Thanks!

Discovery 2001TD5 ES. I have the dreaded blower motor issue. Took out the blower about a year ago after it stopped. I bench tested it on 12v and it worked just fine. I decided to have a go at reconnecting yesterday and voila it worked however as I adjusted the fan speed to max it quit and now again is dead. I pulled the resistor pack and gave it a good clean. I cleaned the main fuse box, removing all the plugs, lubing with QD40. I have now tested the output at the blower plug and get 7.9 volts. Blower fan still remains dead. Any ideas where to start.

Under dash fuse box. Check the wiring diagrams, there is a fuse that is supposed to hot for the blower that is probably dead.

Glad my notes in the link you gave helped. I remember the elation I had when the air worked again after the bypass. That was nine years ago! Mercy, time flies.
