Default Door Locks

I have a 2001 Disco II with 115K miles - so ite relatively older...
first started with my rear door locks not working - would not open with the remote key opener - now it is the driver side door that cannot be opened with the remote key -
I haev checked the fuse #1 and it looks good -
has anyone come across this problem - and how do you fix it ?
Thanks
Kevin - Dallas, TX

How about when you use the key or dash button. If they still don't work, you will be looking for a couple of door lock actuators, how mechanical are you?

If it is isolated to one or two door locks I would think the problem is bad lock actuators. Very easy to replace if you are at all mechanically inclined.

Odd but not long after reading this my drivers door lock stopped working. I can push the lock down and pull it up but it will not work with the remote or switch inside. Did you need special tools to remove the door panel ie: trim puller ?

door panel removal tool is the best to prevent breaking the little plastic retainers but as long as your careful you can usually pry the bottom ones loose and then give the panel a quick jerk without breaking to many if any at all (its ok to break a couple as there are usually about 2 or 3 times more than are truly needed) just be sure all screws are removed first!!!

i used my son's wooden ruler to pry open very carefully - it worked !
not hard juts be gentle -
now waitimg for the part to show ... the dealership costs for brand new was $195 - too much - so i am going the used/after market route -
