Default flashing lights and clicking door locks - LR3

I'm having some kind of quirky problem with my brand new (approx. one month old) LR3. On two different occasions, the lights have started flashing and the door locks clicking when the key is NOT in the ignition. When you put the key in and start the car, the problem goes away and the car runs fine. However, when you take the key out, this strange behavior continues. It is not an alarm. The first time I brought it in for service, I was told that it was a computer glitch, then they told me that was inaccurate and that it was only a loose ground wire. They took care of that two days ago, and now it's going haywire again. It just happens out of the blue. I took out the garbage and found the car flashing and clicking away. If I hadn't gone outside, I would be very disappointed to find the car dead in the driveway tomorrow morning! Any comments or suggestions? Any similiar problems?

They are probably right it is some kind of funky ground problem. they may be good or bad dealers, but if necessary give them some encouragement to find and fix the problem. That kind of stuff could leave you stranded. hope it helps. gotta love a rover. duboff

Thank you for your response. The service department called today to tell me they have no idea what the problem is, but they have a specialist coming into the dealership tomorrow to take a look at mine and another they've got with a similar problem.
