Default Door Seals

I recently went on a hunting trip to Missouri. The truck did great however, I noticed that every thing in the cargo area had the same dirt covering that was on the rear door. My problem seems to be coming from the fit of the rear passenger doors, mostly the left side. Has any one else run into what I would call a gaping hole between to door seal and the door. The seal seems to be in good condition. On a side note, the truck was so impressive to all of those who rode in it that one of my uncles has already purchased a D1 and I have another who is looking. They couldn't belive the capabilities of the Disco, so I had to show them.

Have you tried adjusting the door latch? Open the door, take a star head, or maybe allenwrench and loosen the door latch thingy that is attached to the body, move it out, retighten and close the door. Do this is small adjustments, there is a fine line between good and not good.
If that doesnt work then you may need to adjust your door hinges.

Actually its the door catch that should be moved inward, since the door part is part of the actuator and not adjustable on a D2

From researching, I've been told that DII door seals will fit a DI and they are better thicker seals.

interesting. but aren't the DII rear doors longer? i could be wrong about that.

i am in need of new seals on my 96 and would be very interested in upgrading if they are in fact interchangeable...

Instead of adjusting the striker, adjust the glass frame as it is the most common problem of air leakage. I believe it to be a torx t-40, loosen the glass frame bolts and pull inward on the frame, then tighten again.

Thanks for the replies. Upon further investigation it appears that the truck has had extensive repair without report. I found that the entire roof has been replaced as well as both front fenders and bonnet. It appears as if I have more work ahead.

So it was in a roll over accident then? That sucks.

It sounds like it is time to cut your losses and search for another Disco II with a clean bill of health. Sorry to hear the news.
