I have a '98 discovery and when I open the door my dome light blinks on & off. There is also a constant beep as soon as I take the truck out of park that stays on until I put it back in park. The dealer said it was because of a door latch sensor. Is there any way I can bypass the sensor w/out spending $300?

 

If the dealer is sure about this and told you what door switch needs to be replace, I would suggest you replace it your self, I can't imagine it is too much of a problem to get to.

Same problem here minus the flashing dome light. I gotta go with a fault in the diff-lock circuitry. When in park, no noise, when anything else, constant chime. Wish I could identify fuse for chime! Or find and yank chime.
