Well, took apart my tumbler and it looks like the same exact piece is broken on mine. The retaining wafer. Pictures here:

mln01, did you replace the retaining wafer with anything?

If nothing works from the great suggestions given and one is considering breaking glass, I just want to point out that the front windshield is designed to be removed and replaced. No glass has to be broken.

Yeah, I think it's in my write up that I had a replacement for the broken piece from a boneyard truck. But that said, it's not clear to me you really need it at all. If you can't source one from a boneyard truck I'd try just putting it back together without that piece. It's been quite a while since I did the work on mine, so maybe you could try to inspect for the function that piece performs and determine whether or not it's really necessary.

Be sure to carefully clean and lube everything while you have apart. I used carb cleaner to clean the parts. I'd recommend either a spray silicone lube or a spray white lithium lube, or that specialized lube mentioned earlier in this thread after you get it cleaned up.

Yep. I cleaned and lubed everything and put it back together without the retaining wafer. There are a couple discos I can grab a door handle from not too far from me so I'll do that probably over the weekend. The chamber for the tumbler did seem to hold the wafers in place, and until I can get some fobs programmed, I'll just be extra careful.

My alarm did go off when I initially unlocked and opened the door. I just unhooked the battery, pulled the tumble to fix, installed everything back, and it's working with no problems.

Woo hoo! I'm glad my write-up helped.
