Default Drive Shaft Tool from Lucky 8

I'm prepping to replace the front drive shaft on my 99D2, I'm going to get the replacement one from Lucky 8, but had a question regarding the drive shaft tool they offer:
https://www.lucky8llc.com/collection...ive-shaft-tool

Is this nothing more than a short impact extension with the right size "socket" on the end? I already have a full suite of impact tools and was wondering if this truly makes the job easier, it's just cheap enough where I imagine it could be worth it but also just expensive enough to make me think about it considering all of the tools I already have.

I bought one when I ordered my Tom woods from them. That's all it is....I only picked it up so that I knew I wouldn't get halfway through the job and not be able to make a slim enough extension with the tools I already have. I get frustrated easily when 30-45 min jobs take hours with a few trips to a store in the middle in order to finish the job.

i didn't even know that there was a special tool. a socket, a wobble extension, and (possibly) a flat open-end wrench work just fine.

I'm with Armyrover. Its slim on the sides so it gets in there without issue. For the price it was a no brainer for me.

It's not "just the right size socket", it's a thin wall socket which allows you to fit around the flange without much interference. It's absolutely worth having in your tool box

Oh man, thought I had my mind made up but now not so much. Thanks for the clarification on the “thin wall socket” nature of the tool, that might make the case for me. As usual, I appreciate the input and different voices!
