Default Driveline noise at part throttle (no load) Transfercase?

I have searched to no end. Found a couple of threads that kinda started in the right direction, but soon went to left field for my problem.

95 D1
RoverTym 2" lift
BALENCED wheels and tires

My problem seems to be a little different than the others. When I am driving at any speed greater than 25-30mph and I come to those spots in the road where you are holding the throttle steady, not quite accelerating or decelerating, just cruising ( no load ), I get a faint gggrrrrrr sound from what I can best determine to be the end of the t-case or the e-brake drum area. As soon as I either let completely off the gas or give it a little bit more gas (create a load), the noise goes away. I have checked, greased, and rechecked the u-joints, checked, changed, and rechecked the t-case fluid.

I have asked around and most seem to think its the lift. Others u-joint, and some, the t-case.

I figured I would ask here to see if anyone has delt with this type of problem before I go throwing money at it that I dont have.

Thanks guys.

Have the same problem on my DII, It's done it for about 2yrs. I've replaced all u-joints, still whines. It hasn't been a problem yet, just an annoyance.

What weight of gear lube are you using in the t-case and diffs?

what the owners manual said to use. 80w90. Only I went synthetic. Can say it is definately not the diffs. When it does do it, it sounds like it right under the rear passenger floorboard.

I will also add, tonight on the way home, I played around with lightly dragging the ebrake. At one point, right before you can feel any drag in the vehicle, but the handle pressure starts to firm up, I can get it to do it constantly no matter what the load.

Have you recently serviced the t/case, consider 85W/140 gear oil.
How often do you grease the u-joints?
Maintance in general????????????

only had the Disco for about a year. Changed all the fluids when I got it, so T-case fluid has been changed within the last year. U-joint get the gun once a month with an inspection of everything else. Do mild trails with 1-2 foot water crossings, nothing serious.

Switch to 85w-140 gear lube. It will quiet the t-case. But it sounds like you have normal gear slap.
The thicker lube will quiet it down though.
