Default Driver’s seat lumbar pump?

Since picking my Disco up from storage for a good while and going through things, I noticed the lumbar pump on only the driver’s side isn’t working.

The passenger side works perfectly. All other functions work on the driver’s side (forward and back, tilt, and recline).

I took the switch apart just to play and cleaned it up and reinstalled and it still doesn’t work. I checked the fuses under the passenger seat and all fuses are good. I also verified I can hear the relay or click or whatever for the deflate function.

Where else should I be looking? Do I need to remove the seat?

Boy am I dumb and/or lazy sometimes. So I started looking around and realized there are separate fuse “blocks” for driver and passenger side. Duh.

Anyway, sure enough I check the fuse for the driver’s seat and it is blown. Replace it and it popped immediately. I’ve personally never believed you just replace fuses- they ALWAYS blow for a reason.

That said, since I obviously have a short somewhere, where do I start? I think I’ll have to pull the seat, but wondered if there was any other experience out there on this one.

As I always seem to do, I just keep researching. I found this picture in the RAVE, and now am sure I’ll have to remove the seat. Bummer. The motor is component 11.

On 20 year old cars, fuses do sometimes just blow. But obviously if the replacement fuse also blows you have an issue to fix.
